2.1- Expressing likes
We use like – don’t like – love – to talk about the food we like.
I like cheese but I don’t like
pizza.
I like oranges and I love
apples.
Learning Tip 1 – Expressing likes and preferences Affirmative: I like pizza Interrogative: Do you like sandwiches? Negative: I don’t (do not) like eggs.

Learning Tip 2 – Short Answers Interrogative: Do you like cheese? Affirmative: Yes, I do. Negative: No, I don’t (do not). Remember this is a conversation We ask with “you”, we answer with “I”

Learning Tip 3 – Linking words Addition: I like pizza and sandwiches. Option: Are you eating a sandwich or a pizza for lunch? Contrast: I don’t (do not) like cheese but I like pizza. Reason: I am eating because I am hungry.
