The food pyramid is an eating guide that helps you make healthy choices. To eat healthy, our bodies need the correct amount of nutrients:
– Protein.
– Fat.
– Carbohydrates.
– Vitamins.
– Minerals.
Food that contain the same type of nutrients are grouped together in each part of the pyramid. According to scientists, the most important groups are vegetables, legumes, grains and fruits, that is why they are the basis of the pyramid.
Another important group are milk, yogurt, eggs, meat, chicken, this group contains high amounts of protein and calcium, this group is called dairy. Finally, on the top of the pyramid, there are foods high in salt and sugar, eating this type of food is recommended on a maximum of once or twice a week.
You can use this pyramid to plan your meals in a healthy way, choosing the correct ingredients is essential for your body’s health. It is also important to understand and know which are the nutrients that our body needs and eat accordingly.
